Posted on

The BA Antiquities Museum is organizing a workshop for children aged 6 to 12 entitled “Life in the Otherworld” on Tuesday, 9 September 2025, at 12:00 pm. The event takes place at the Museum, BA Main Building.

In this workshop, children will embark on a journey through time to discover ancient Egyptian ideas about life in the otherworld. They will learn about the funerary drawings and inscriptions that adorned the walls of tombs and temples, discover the secrets of mummification and body preservation and their role in ensuring resurrection and immortality in the afterlife, and get introduced to the funerary items that accompanied the deceased on their eternal journey.

Children will also participate in a workshop to simulate the shape of a tomb and learn about the shape of mummies and what they represented as a symbol of immortality, in order to create an atmosphere of excitement and enjoy an authentic experience.

The workshop includes interactive activities for children, such as redrawing certain funerary symbols, fun games and questions to test their knowledge, and a simplified experience illustrating the stages of funerary rituals.
