The BA Women Studies and Social Transformation Program launches the Alexandria Governorate edition of the “Secrets of Craftsmanship” initiative, from 26 August to 15 September 2025, in collaboration with Hayah Karima Foundation, under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work.

The initiative aims to support economic empowerment, strengthen the role of small businesses and handicraft in community development, and help create new job opportunities.

The training program consists of two phases. The first phase includes specialized training in entrepreneurship to develop the skills of female participants and help them establish their projects, in addition to supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs in turning their ideas into a sustainable source of income. The second phase comprises a specialized training workshop on the manufacture and design of leather products to train participants to produce unique handicrafts that support the local economy and contribute to the preservation of traditional crafts.

Applicants must be Egyptian women between the ages of 20 and 45 who are passionate about learning handicrafts and would like to turn their passion into a profitable business venture. Training sessions will be held in the morning, and applicants must commit to attending the entire program (the training course is fully funded).
