The BA Announces the Inclusion of Thousands of Egyptian Figures to the Memory of Egypt Project

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has organized a seminar entitled “Historical Writing for the Public: The Memory of Modern Egypt Magazine” as part of the cultural program of the 20th edition of its International Book Fair. The seminar was attended by Ahmed Hassan, researcher affiliated with the Memory of Egypt Project; Mohamed Motosh, Senior BA Coordination and Follow-up Specialist; and journalist Roushdy El-Deken. It was moderated by Dr. Sameh Fawzy, Senior Researcher at the BA and supervisor of the Memory of Egypt project.

The seminar was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the BA, and Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Acting Deputy Director of the BA and Head of the Cultural Outreach Sector.

Dr. Sameh Fawzy explained that the Library is preparing to announce the completion of a major project that documents the history of the most important Egyptian scientific figures in various fields during the 19th and 20th centuries, comprising nearly 3,000 figures.
