FIRST LEGO League Discover and Explore Competitions at the BA

For the twentieth consecutive year, the BA Planetarium Science Center, in collaboration with the Robot Technology and Gifted Care Association, is organizing the activities of the Egyptian edition of the FIRST LEGO League Discover and Explore competitions, from 26 to 29 January 2025, at the BA Conference Center.

It is worth noting that the FIRST LEGO competitions are among the largest international competitions in the fields of robot programming, science, and engineering, and are organized by the FIRST LEGO Federation in the United States. The competition targets children aged 4 – 10 and provides them with a unique opportunity to showcase their talents in robotics and innovation.

This year, more than 2,900 students representing 450 teams from 17 Egyptian governorates are taking part in the competition, together with nearly 70 project judges and more than 250 volunteers who help organize the event and support the participants.

The theme of this year's Discover and Explore competitions is “Discovering Marine Life.” Students are required to present innovative solutions to develop technology that contributes to the exploration of the deep oceans and seas.

The competition gives the winning teams the opportunity to represent Egypt at the FIRST LEGO World Festival in the United States in April 2025. They can also participate in open tournaments held in Europe, Africa, East Asia, and Australia, where they can compete for valuable prizes and scholarships.
