In its continuous role as a meeting point for cultures and civilizations, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) proudly  launched its latest project “The BA African Networks”. The project sets a defined goal of rising to the digital challenge in order to develop African innovation through the use of science and technology in networks that extend throughout Africa.
The “BA African Networks” is divided into five different networks; Environment, ICT, Global Health, Agriculture and Research Methods. The project connects scientists and researchers with common interests and expertise to share their knowledge and contributions.
The launching of the project was announced during the seventeenth annual BA Board of Trustees Meeting after the first newsletter was sent to 500,000 subscribers on 6 April 2016. The newsletter, which highlights the latest issues and reports, is sent out  every two weeks to each subscribed user to keep up with the ever-changing world.
