Conclusion of the “African-Latin American Cooperation: A Partnership for Building the Future” Conference

The BA Center for Strategic Studies, in collaboration with Al-Hewar Center for Political and Media Studies in Cairo, concluded the conference “African-Latin American Cooperation: A Partnership for Building the Future” at its Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT) in the Smart Village.

The first session, entitled “Current Security Challenges and Possible Solutions,” featured a number of research papers, including one by Prof. Maher Farghali on “Terrorist Hotbeds in Africa and Latin America and their Impact on Global Security,” Prof. Ghizlan Mahmoud on “Maritime Security and Organized Crime Networks in the South Atlantic: Opportunities and Challenges,” and Prof. Farouk Abu Deif on “Climate Change and the Growth of Terrorism in Africa.”

The second session, entitled “Social and Cultural Interconnections and Education,” was moderated by Dr. Al-Shaymaa Al-Demerdash. During this session, the following papers were discussed: “Al-Azhar and the Spread of a Culture of Peace and Tolerance in Africa: An Analytical Study” by Dr. Hamada Ismail; "The Media and Mutual Mental Imagery: An Analytical Study” by Mr. Sherif Rabie; “Poverty and Social Protection Strategies: The Taazor Program in Mauritania as a Model” by Ms. Yasmine Kamal; and “Digital Media and Building Mutual Mental Images between Africa and Latin America” by Dr. Ahmed Saeed.
