Chilean Poet Theodoro Elssaca in a Visit to the BA

Posted on

Mr. Theodoro Elssaca, one of Chile’s most prominent poets, has recently paid a visit to the BA.

He toured the Reading Area, learned more about the various projects taking place at the BA, and visited its exhibitions and museums. He also presented a collection of books as a gift to the Library.

Mr. Elssaca emphasized the profound influence of Arab culture on Latin literature, highlighting the wide range of vocabulary and literary styles that reflect this influence, which can be recognized not only in poetry, but also in narrative. He also expressed his desire to see more translations of his poems in Arabic, so that he could reach a wider audience in the Arab world.

It is worth noting that Theodoro Elssaca is an essayist, storyteller, visual artist, anthropologist, and explorer-photographer.
