Online Workshop: “Biodiversity towards Sustainable Food Systems in the Arab Region”

The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), in collaboration with the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries' Arab Regional Partner (TWAS-AREP), organizes an online workshop entitled “Biodiversity towards Sustainable Food Systems in the Arab Region.” It takes place on 13 and 14 December 2022.

The workshop aims to shed light on the most significant challenges facing the Arab region with regard to biodiversity and its importance to food systems, in addition to the new technologies that support sustainable agriculture. Moreover, it will discuss the importance of education for sustainable development, as well as the regional challenges faced by developing countries in this regard, especially those imposed by climate change on the Arab region. It will also address the research efforts that developing countries can make in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development.

The workshop is held as part of the Young Scientists Training Program, designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to advance their careers and achieve their professional goals. It will also provide young researchers under the age of 40 with the opportunity to network with experts and researchers from different developing countries.

The workshop is free of charge.
