The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is inaugurating the 15th round of Agenda Exhibition on Wednesday, 23 February 2022, at 2:00 pm, in the BACC East and West Exhibition Halls.
Agenda Exhibition is considered to be one of the most important art exhibitions in Egypt, organized annually by the BA Art Exhibitions and Collections Department. It first began in 2008, as a free space for artists, and has since been held regularly, allowing the exposure of artworks to diverse audience groups. The Exhibition has also been able to establish its prominent position among art exhibitions in Egypt, and has proven over time to be welcoming to modern artistic changes, and a hub for all artists of different artistic orientations.
This year’s round is entitled “Square Meter: a Free Space for Creativity”, and features artworks by 155 artists (out of 483 applicants) from 12 governorates, with a designated space (meter x meter) for each artist.
As a tradition, the Exhibition has been honoring distinguished artists whose creative output has had a major impact in the domain of visual arts in Egypt. This year, it honors the late artists Ahmed Abdel Wahab, Ramses Marzouk, Moustafa Abdel Wahab, and Mohamed El-Tahhan. Special honors are also bestowed on the artists Mostafa El Razzaz and Ahmed Abdel-Ghani, the founders of the Agenda Exhibition, who are greatly credited with fostering and supporting it until it proved its success.
It is worth mentioning that all artworks were transported by DHL Express.
The Exhibition runs until Saturday, 12 March 2022; daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Fridays are off.
